Project Nehemiah

MAY-JULY 2019

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a

SADNESS AND HAPPINESS

Recently, my wife, Hagit, and I have experienced both of the extremes mentioned in the verse above. On May 21, 2019,after a relatively short illness, Hagit’s father, David Yermiyahiou, passed away. He was 91 years old. Please pray for the Hagit and for her Mom, Doris, her brothers Siman and Eli and for her sister, Miriam. Hagit is the only person in her family who is saved. However, on May 25, just four days after Hagit’s father died, little Daniela was born to Hagit’s niece Sapir. Sapir is the daughter of Hagit’s sister, Miriam. Although the death of Hagit’s father has brought much sadness into the family in recent days, the joy of a new baby being born into the family has put a smile of happiness on each of our faces. THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR HAGIT AND HER FAMILY.

SUMMER VOLUNTEERS

This summer, the Lord has blessed us with volunteers who are here to not only help us with the deliveres for Project Nehemiah but also to help us give a little much-needed TLC to our office and warehouse. PLEASE PRAY for Josh Wolfrey, Tim Yerimov and Michael Frank (not pictured), all recent college graduates who are searching God’s will for their lives as they serve with us during these few months.

NEW ARRIVALS

Our latest deliveries have shown that new immigrants continue to come to Israel in record number. On two separate deliveries to the northern Israeli port city of Haifa, we have helped over 100 families, most of whom have recently come to Israel. Your prayers and financial support are helping reach these precious people with the gospel message of hope that only comes through Jesus, the Messiah.

HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS

Not much has changed since the world’s hatred of the Jews was grossly manifested in the murder of more than 6 million by Adolph Hitler and his German army in WWII. I say this because, just a few weeks ago, once again, the southern part of Israel was exposed to some 700 rockets fired by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists from Gaza in an effort to kill Jewish people. Dozens of towns were hit by rockets including the town of Ashdod and were successful in their mission of killing people. Despite these attacks, just a few days after the bombings ended, Project Nehemiah made a delivery to 38 Holocaust survivors in Ashdod. A few days later, although Hamas was not successful here, we made a delivery to the city of Ofakim, which is just south of Ashdod and only 18 miles from Gaza. At Ofakim, thanks to your PRAYERS AND FINANCIAL GIFTS, we were able to offer food and blankets to another 70 Holocaust survivors or their children. Not only should you be praying for the salvation of these survivors but also we ask that you PRAY FOR THE SAFETY of Project Nehemiah workers as we minister to those dear people in such turbulent times. Without your partnership, we would not be able to continue the ministry of PN. Although the Lord continues to give us new partners almost every month, we thank the Lord for you who have faithfully supported this work for years. Your prayers and liberality is a testimony of the Lord’s faith fullness to supply our needs and as a result of your obedience to His promise of blessing those who bless His people, Genesis 12:3a “And I will bless them that bless thee…” hundreds of new Israelis are exposed to the love of Christ each month. THANK YOU for letting us be your partner in this great work!
