“Though he slay me, yet will I trust him:” Job 13:15a
SPECIAL COVID-19 UPDATE
APRIL 2020
Dear Project Nehemiah Partners,
Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! When Job wrote the above verse in Job 13:15, he was going through the most difficult time he had ever experienced in his life. Yet, his faith in God was unwavering! GOVERNMENT
RESTRICTIONS
Like most of you, Israel is under complete lockdown. The airport is closed for all passenger service to both returning Israeli citizens as well as for foreign travelers. All restaurants, malls, national parks, beaches, entertainment venues, and all non-essential workplaces are closed. If you are required to go outside for groceries, hospital, or doctor visits, you MUST wear a facemask. The distance you can walk from your residence is limited to 100 meters or 330 feet for exercise and to walk your pet. According to the newspapers, Israel has issued 26,000 tickets to violators, since the full “lock-down” went into effect. At this rate, workers might not need to go back to work to keep the economy up-and-running!
GOD IS GOOD
We praise the Lord that none of our staff or their families have been infected with the coronavirus. Despite our limited movement because of the government restrictions, we have been able to witness to family and friends using social media. Some of our family members seem to have hearts more receptive than ever to the gospel because of the coronavirus. We ask that you
PLEASE PRAY
For the Lord to continue using us to share the “Good News of Jesus Christ with those who will listen!
MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
Before the full lockdown went into effect, we were able to make food and blanket deliveries to Holocaust survivors, living in retirement-home-type-facilities, in three different cities: Dimona, Rehovot, and Gedara. Because of the “social distancing limits,’ we were forced to adjust how we normally hand the recipients their gifts. On these deliveries, we were required to place the sacks of food and blankets in a pre-designated room. Later each person would come, one-by-one, to receive a food basket and a blanket.
TRUSTING GOD
None of us knows how long this coronavirus is going to affect our personal, family, and ministry life. What is certain, however, is that the Lord is in control and He knows EXACTLY what He is doing and for what purpose He has allowed this test to come into our lives. Our responsibility, as His children, is to trust Him, as a job trusted Him, in this time of trial.
GOD IS FAITHFUL! PLEASE PRAY FOR US, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED FINANCIAL AND PRAYER SUPPORT OF THIS MINISTRY!
For the Messiah, Allen Lord.
